He threw out old models of the universe and defined modern astronomy. Now modern scientists are doing Copernicus a solid in return: Digging up his corpse and subjecting it to invasive testing to prove it's really him.


DNA tests from hairs found in books belonging to Copernicus seems to match the skeleton, which was discovered in late 2005. Facial reconstruction also shows a striking resemblance to existing portraits of the mind behind heliocentric cosmology.
