Saying that the nation "will never participate in the [nuclear] talks any longer nor... be bound to any agreement," Pyongyang has ejected United Nations inspectors and vowed to re-start a nuclear plant.

The White House was quick to issue a statement on the matter, saying that "North Korea will not find acceptance by the international community unless it verifiably abandons its pursuit of nuclear weapons." China, which recently joined in a United Nations Security Council move for sanctions and trade embargoes on the nation, is urging "calm and restraint."
