In Mexico--where severe cases of the swine flu are believed to have killed over 100--soldiers have distributed more than six million face masks in an effort to slow the virus' spread.

National Geographic has put together a collection of images of the resulting scenes, including:

* Nuns wearing face masks at a closed-door Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral. Most services were canceled in Mexico City on Sunday.

* Japanese quarantine officers using heat-sensitive cameras to scan airport travelers for fevers.

* A soccer enthusiast sitting all alone in Aztec Stadium--while America and Tecos play on the field.
