"So far, the severity of illness we’re seeing in this country is similar to what we’re seeing with seasonal flu," acting director of the Center for Disease Control Dr. Richard E. Besser tells the New York Times. "While we’re not out of the woods, we are seeing some encouraging signs."

"Closing schools is not effective," and isn't worth the toll on schools and communities, he added.

As of last week, season flus had killed 13,000 in the US.

I think people overreacted. But I think it is better to overreact than not be prepared or aware.
